Roadmap

• A host opens a room on the big screen. Guests join by scanning its QR, typing the six-character code, or opening the link the host copies to them — no sign-up.
• Questions can be multiple choice, true/false, or typed answers, and a question can carry a picture or an audio clip.
• The host picks the round: five, ten or fifteen questions, how long an answer stays open, and whether answers show after every question or wait for a checkpoint.
• Pause stops the clock while the question stays open, Next skips ahead, and latecomers watch until the next round or join it, as the host prefers.
• Write your own quiz packs in the browser — choice or typed answers, a picture on any question — and keep them private as drafts until you publish them.
• A correct answer scores, and the first three correct answers to a question score more. The round ends on a podium: gold, silver and bronze, then everybody else.
• When the answer comes up, every option fills with the share of the room that picked it — so the wrong answer half the room fell for is as much of the moment as the right one.
• Anyone in the room can react from their own screen. Hold the button for a spree, and the emoji float up the big screen for everyone at once.
• The running standings scroll down the side of the question, everybody in turn, so being eighth is still being on the board.
• Everyone ends on the standings and a look back at their own answers, under a fall of neon.
• The server owns the clock and the answer key. A backgrounded host tab cannot stall the game, and no answer reaches a player before the reveal.

The whole room plays as one team. Whichever answer the most people pick becomes the room's answer — a tie goes to whoever got there first — and the night ends on one score out of the questions asked rather than a leaderboard.

• Nobody has a personal score. There is no ranking to hide, because none is kept.
• Everyone in the room is on the big screen as a circle, lit when they have answered — so the host can see which table has not looked up yet.
• The host can put every vote on the wall as it arrives, for tables that confer out loud. It is off unless they ask for it.
• Each phone is told what it said, what the room said, and what the answer was.

A whole evening in one running order: rounds, breaks and a finish, set up once and played through without anybody driving it. For the bar that is pouring drinks and hosting the quiz at the same time — the screen goes up, start is pressed once, and the night runs itself from there.
